The Wisdom of Arthur Brooks

During my morning workout, I finished listening to the latest Rich Roll Podcast featuring Harvard Professor Arthur Brooks. It's thought-provoking and can be a wake-up call for leaders navigating today’s challenges. Here are a couple of points that struck a chord:

- “It doesn’t matter how many answers you have if you’re answering the wrong questions.”
- “We’re like redwood trees—their roots intertwine for strength.”
- "Maintain a failure and disappointment list", then track impacts over the next month and two to deepen evidence that growth and gifts come from hardships.
- Clarify your core values and have people around you who will hold you to living these.
- Striving and achievement alone is not the path to happiness. Being, relationships, authenticity, vulnerability, purpose, connection, and love create happiness.

The conversation spans crisis, grief, spirituality, romantic love, parenting, higher education, and leadership.

I highly recommend this episode if you want to broaden your perspective and lead with purpose, resilience and heart.
